TOMS RIVER – The Toms River Police Department is currently investigating two thefts that occurred overnight at businesses along Fischer Boulevard.
Breakin Bread Eatery, located at 1177 Fischer Boulevard, and New York Water Bagel, located at 542 Fischer Boulevard, were both robbed in the overnight hours from April 16 into April 17.
According to police, the unknown suspect(s) smashed the front window of Breakin Bread with a brick and removed a safe containing cash. At New York Water Bagel, their front window was smashed with a paver brick and cash was stolen from inside the store.
Breakin Bread Eatery took to social media showing photos of the store’s damaged entrance. They later posted videos of the incident which were caught on surveillance video. You can see a man in dark clothing smashing the glass door, entering the restaurant, and leaving with a safe in his hands.
