TOMS RIVER – Township police and Ocean County authorities are investigating two overnight burglaries at popular pizzerias. In both cases, glass was strewn about and money was missing.

Toms River Police confirm that the first incident took place on April 26 at Pizza and Panini on Route 37. They arrived on scene at around 3:51 a.m. to find the front door had been smashed open with a large stone paver, the cash register had been compromised and an undisclosed amount of money was taken.

While canvassing the area on the same morning and just four minutes down the road, officers noticed a smashed out front window to Singas Pizza. In that case, a rock was inside the building which the suspect or suspects used to break the windown and enter the business. The cash register was raided and money was taken.

In addition to Toms River Police, the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department CSI responded to both locations and documented evidence pertaining to the crime.

Anyone with information regarding these burglaries is asked to contact Detective MacRae 732-349-0150 extension 1323.
