BARNEGAT – Police reported that a motorcyclist who struck a deer at 7:30 p.m. on May 9 later died from his injuries.
The 63-year-old driver, whose name was not released by authorities, was heading south on Route 610 (Warren Grove Road). A deer entered the roadway and they collided.
The driver was taken to Southern Ocean Medical Center where he succumbed to his injuries, police said.
In addition to Barnegat Police, the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department Crime Scene Investigation Unit, Barnegat Fire Company and Quality Medical Transport responded along with Hackensack Meridian Paramedics. The accident is currently under investigation by the Barnegat Township Traffic Safety Unit.
