TOMS RIVER – A Beachwood man was injured in a crash Sunday afternoon on the Garden State Parkway, police said.
At around 3:30 p.m., Christopher Howell, 32, of Beachwood was heading south by milepost 83.8 when his Honda collided with a Ford pick-up truck that was also heading south. Both vehicles then hit the guardrail.
Howell was ejected from his car, police said. He sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to a local hospital.
The truck ran off the right side of the road and overturned, police said. The driver and passenger sustained minor injuries.
The New Jersey State Police said that the crash remains under investigation. The condition of the ejected driver was not released at this time.
