  MANCHESTER – One person was hospitalized after a shed caught fire on Riverside Drive in Manchester Township Tuesday evening, police said.   Around 9:40 p.m., authorities found a shed in the side yard of a home on Riverside fully engulfed in flames.   MANCHESTER – One person was hospitalized after a shed caught fire on Riverside Drive in Manchester Township Tuesday evening, police said.

  Around 9:40 p.m., authorities found a shed in the side yard of a home on Riverside fully engulfed in flames. Officers evacuated all occupants of the adjacent home and several fire companies were dispatched to the scene to distinguish the blaze.

  According to police, one occupant of the home was brought to a local hospital by Manchester EMS due to smoke inhalation.

  In addition, an adjacent home was damaged on the exterior siding due to the fire. However, it was determined to not be extensive.

  The Ocean County Fire Marshal’s Office concluded that the fire was accidental. No details on how the fire started were provided by officials.

  The Manchester Township Police Departments extends gratitude to Manchester Emergency Medical Services, Berkeley Emergency Medical Services and the following departments for their responses and assistance: Manchester Volunteer Fire Company, Ridgeway Volunteer Fire Company, Whiting Volunteer Fire Company, and Jersey Central Power & Light.
