MANCHESTER – A motorcyclist was injured after a driver pulled out in front of him and he had to swerve to avoid them.

Police said that Mark Britt, 32, of Manchester, was driving a Honda motorcycle east on Manchester Boulevard at around 2:45 p.m. on August 13 near the intersection with Lakewood Avenue.

An unknown vehicle pulled in front of Britt, causing him to swerve around it, police said. Once back in the lane, he hit his brakes and started to skid before rear-ending a Suburu Legacy, which was stopped and waiting to make a left turn.

Britt was brought to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune with a leg injury.

The driver of the Subaru, 25 year-old Jordan Quigley of Whiting, was wearing her seatbelt and did not sustain any injuries.

In addition to police, personnel from the Whiting Volunteer Fire Department, Paramedics from Robert Wood Johnson, and EMTs with the Manchester Emergency Medical Services also responded.

The crash remains under investigation by Sergeant Ian Bole of the Manchester Township Police Department Traffic Safety Unit.
