LACEY – A 72-year-old woman was killed after colliding into trees and overturning in Lacy Township Saturday evening, police said.
Around 11:28 p.m., police and EMS personnel responded to Route 539 in the area of Mile Marker 20. A 2012 Grey Jeep Liberty was found partially overturned about 50 feet into the woods, with its driver trapped inside.
The driver, 72-year-old Rosemary Pfluge of Whiting, sustained serious injuries and was extricated from her car by firefighters. She was transported to Community Medical Center, where she was later pronounced deceased, Captain Paul Sullivan Jr. said.
Pfluge was traveling northbound on Route 539 when her car left the roadway, collided with several trees and partially overturned, Captain Paul Sullivan Jr. said.
