FREEHOLD – An investigation into the circumstances behind an overnight shooting that left one injured is active and ongoing, Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond S. Santiago announced on Saturday.
At approximately 1:48 a.m., officers from the Red Bank Police Department responded to St Mary’s Place just off Shrewsbury Avenue for a report of shots fired. Upon arrival, officers discovered three shell casings. A short time later, officials were notified that an adult male, 34, of Long Branch, had been admitted to a local hospital for a gunshot wound to the upper leg.
The investigation involving members of the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Bureau and the Red Bank Police Department remains ongoing at this time.
