FREEHOLD – A local man has been charged with the possession and distribution of child sexual abuse materials (CSAM), Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond S. Santiago announced on Wednesday.
Timothy R. Kanski, 32, is charged with one count of second-degree Distribution of Child Sexual Abuse Materials and one count of second-degree Possession of Child Sexual Abuse Materials.
An investigation into this matter was initiated in October 2024 by the MCPO High Tech Bureau’s Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Unit which determined that Kanski was in possession of and distributed CSAM files.
Kanski was arrested without incident Friday morning, January 10, 2025, by members of the MCPO High Tech Bureau, Search Warrant Entry Team (SWET) and the Neptune Township Police Department.

The case is assigned to Monmouth County Assistant Prosecutor Joseph Competello. Information regarding representation for Kanski was not readily available.
Despite these charges, every defendant is presumed innocent, unless and until found guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, following a trial at which the defendant has all of the trial rights guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution and State law.
