TOMS RIVER – A fire that broke out at the Roberts Mobile Home Park in Toms River was extinguished without any injuries, officials said.
The fire started at around 2:15 p.m. on May 15, said Chief Inspector Matthew Janora with the Toms River Bureau of Fire Prevention. Smoke was seen coming out of the front of one of the homes. The firefighters encountered flames throughout the unit.
Fire companies from Pleasant Plains, Silverton, East Dover, Toms River Fire Companies #1 and #2, and Whitesville worked together to get the fire under control in about 25 minutes. The Toms River Police Department and Toms River Police EMS also assisted at the scene.
The home was occupied at the time, however the residents and their pets were safely evacuated, Janora said. The American Red Cross is helping them.
The cause is under investigation.
