JACKSON — A lightning strike at an outdoor archery range in Jackson Township killed one person and injured at least 13 others Wednesday evening, authorities said.
Police said the strike occurred shortly before 7:15 p.m. at the range on Perrineville Road. A 61-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Thirteen others, ranging in age from 7 to 61, sustained injuries varying from burns to general complaints of not feeling well, according to police. All were transported to area hospitals for evaluation and treatment.
Authorities have not released the identities of those involved. The incident remains under investigation.
