WARETOWN — A lucky lottery sale at the ShopRite of Waretown is being turned into help for local families in need.

After the store sold a winning $12.3 million Pick 6 ticket, Saker ShopRites announced it is giving the $10,000 lottery bonus commission tied to that sale to Fulfill Food Bank. The donation will support hunger relief efforts in Monmouth and Ocean counties.

Store officials said representatives from Fulfill Food Bank and the New Jersey Lottery recently visited the Waretown location to mark both the jackpot sale and the charitable contribution.

The donation continues a pattern of giving by the Saker family’s ShopRite stores. In 2024, the ShopRite of Neptune — another Saker-owned location — sold a record $1.13 billion Mega Millions ticket, the largest lottery jackpot ever won in New Jersey. Following that sale, Saker ShopRites donated the Neptune store’s $30,000 lottery bonus commission to Fulfill as well.
