TOMS RIVER – The township will begin selling 2026 beach badges on April 20, with residents able to purchase them weekdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at several municipal locations.
Badges will be available at the Toms River Recreation Department, which is temporarily operating from the Youth Services Building at 1505 N. Bay Ave. Sales will also be offered at the township tax collector’s office at Town Hall, 33 Washington St., and at the Toms River Senior Center, 652 Garfield Ave.
Preseason badges will cost $50 through June 14. The regular-season price will increase to $65 beginning June 15.

Senior badges are priced at $15, with lifetime senior badges processed only through Toms River Recreation. Veterans badges will be issued at no cost. The township said veterans, their spouses and children younger than 17 qualify for free full-season veterans badges when the veteran presents identification at the time of purchase.
Badges may also be purchased at the beach beginning Memorial Day weekend. Beach sales will be offered on weekends from May 23 through June 14, then daily through Labor Day from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at lifeguard houses located at Fourth Avenue and Fort/Fielder Avenue.
Children 12 and younger do not need badges. Township officials said the seasonal badges are valid only for Ortley Beach and Shelter Cove Beach.
