STAFFORD — A Neptune woman was charged after police said she stole more than $1,200 worth of merchandise from a Kohl’s store in Manahawkin.
Brianna I. Mayweather, 41, was identified as the suspect in a shoplifting investigation stemming from a May 14 incident at Kohl’s, located at 205 Route 72 West, Stafford Township police said.
Authorities said Mayweather is accused of taking about $1,269 in merchandise from the store. She was charged with third-degree shoplifting on a complaint warrant issued by Officer Ryan Dugan.
Police said Mayweather was arrested May 25 by Howell Township police in connection with an unrelated shoplifting incident. She was then taken to the Ocean County Jail on the Stafford Township warrant and is awaiting a hearing in Ocean County Superior Court.
All defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
