LACEY — A 19-year-old South Jersey woman was killed Tuesday night after a vehicle left the Garden State Parkway and struck several trees in Ocean County, police said.
New Jersey State Police said troopers responded at 8:22 p.m. to the southbound side of the Parkway near milepost 75.7 in Lacey Township.
Police said a Honda passenger vehicle was traveling south when the driver lost control. The car ran off the right side of the highway and hit multiple trees.
The front-seat passenger, Emma N. Forker, 19, of Haddon Township, was ejected from the vehicle and died from her injuries, authorities said.
The driver suffered moderate injuries and was brought to a local hospital for treatment, police said.
The crash remains under investigation by New Jersey State Police.
