JACKSON — A reported assault led to a large police response in a Jackson Township neighborhood after authorities said a suspect barricaded himself inside a home Friday.
According to the Jackson Township Police Department, officers responded to a residence on Neal Street following a report of an assault in progress. Police said the suspect remained inside the home, prompting assistance from the Ocean County Sheriff’s Office and the Ocean County SWAT Team.
Following negotiations and police efforts to safely resolve the incident, the individual was taken into custody without further incident, authorities said.
Police reported that no injuries occurred during the incident, which ended peacefully.
