TRENTON – An Ocean County man who received child pornography while serving in the Air Force at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst was sentenced October 7 to 10 years and one month in federal prison, U.S. Attorney Robert Frazer announced.
Christian Keilberg, 35, also must serve 10 years of supervised release after completing his prison sentence. U.S. District Judge Georgette Castner imposed the sentence in Trenton, where Keilberg pleaded guilty Feb. 10 to receiving child pornography.
According to court records and statements during the proceedings, Keilberg contacted minors in New Jersey and other states through social media and online messaging applications between November 2020 and November 2022. He was an active-duty airman living and working at the joint base during that period.
Prosecutors said Keilberg sent sexually explicit messages to the minors and requested explicit photographs and videos, which the victims provided.
Investigators searching electronic devices recovered from his base residence discovered additional child pornography. Authorities said Keilberg received more than 600 images, including material depicting children ages 12 to 15.
The Air Force Office of Special Investigations conducted the investigation with assistance from the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office. Assistant U.S. Attorney Tracey Agnew handled the prosecution.
The prosecution was part of Project Safe Childhood, a Justice Department initiative established in 2006 that coordinates efforts to investigate child sexual exploitation, prosecute offenders and identify victims.
