LAKEWOOD — A Seaside Heights man surrendered to police after a weeks-long investigation linked him to several vehicle burglaries and the use of stolen credit cards, authorities said.
Eric S. Oliver, 33, allegedly entered multiple vehicles and used credit cards taken during the burglaries at locations in Lakewood and Brick Township, according to the Lakewood Police Department.
Detectives filed charges against Oliver, who later turned himself in at police headquarters. Police said he was being held at the Ocean County Jail pending further proceedings. The department did not identify the specific charges in its announcement.
Police Chief Gregory Meyer praised investigators’ work and urged residents to take precautions against vehicle burglaries.
Drivers should lock their vehicles and remove cash, valuables, wallets, identification and credit cards, Meyer said.
Oliver is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
