SEASIDE PARK – Local authorities have confirmed that a dead whale was spotted off the coast of Seaside Park earlier today.

The Seaside Park Police Department stated that the whale was sighted about one mile off the L Street beach.

Clean Ocean Action (COA) was notified by Seaside Park Mayor John Peterson that the whale was in the process of washing ashore. COA and Seaside Park Police said the Marine Mammal Stranding Center has been contacted and are waiting for the whale to land on the beach so marine biologists can examine it.
