  POINT PLEASANT BEACH – A small dump truck towing a trailer severely damaged a home on Route 35 after hitting it Wednesday afternoon, police said.

  The crash occurred around 3 p.m. at the corner of Route 35 and McLean Avenue. Point Pleasant Beach Mayor Paul Kanitra confirmed that no injuries resulted from the crash, However, the truck broke multiple utility poles, causing more than 550 homes to lose power.

  Local fire companies responded to stabilize the house as well as to remove the truck, Ocean Fire Company said.

  Pictures posted online showed the truck was hauling a piece of equipment and had hit a utility pole on the corner before slamming into the front of the home.

  Point Pleasant Beach Fire Company 2 responded to assist, South Wall Fire Rescue and Laurelton Fire Company responded with technical rescue teams that secured the home to remove the truck.

  Also responding were Point Pleasant Beach Police, Point Pleasant First Aid and Emergency Squad, the state Department of Transportation, Jersey Central Power & Light, New Jersey Natural Gas, Point Pleasant Beach Public Works and the Ladies Auxiliary of Ocean Fire Company.

  Repairs were performed overnight into this morning by JCP&L crews to replace the pole.
