  MANCHESTER – The New Jersey Forest Fire Service has announced that they have 100% contained the wildfire that destroyed nearly 4,000 acres of forest in Manchester.

  Officials confirmed that they achieved 100% containment at 10 a.m. Thursday morning. Jimmy’s Waterhole Fire reached 3,859 acres of forested area, including Lakehurst and the military base, according to state and local officials.

  Tuesday evening about 170 people evacuated in Lakehurst from Division Street to Route 70, Horicon Avenue, and Beckerville Road. Officials said 75 structures were threatened by the fire. However, no injuries were reported.  

  At this time, authorities are investigating the cause of the fire.
