LITTLE EGG HARBOR – A Township man was arrested after uploading child pornography images online as well as growing marijuana in his home, officials said.
Michael Kozdron, 41, was charged with Distribution of Child Pornography, Possession of Child Pornography, Maintaining or Operating a Controlled Dangerous Substance Production Facility, and Possession of More than Ten but less than Fifty Marijuana Plants with Intent to Distribute.
Detectives identified an IP address associated with a home in Little Egg Harbor Township where images of child pornography were uploaded to the internet using BitTorrent Peer 2 Peer file sharing software. Police said this led them to Kozdron.
On June 20, officers searched his home and discovered, in plain view, 14 marijuana plants, lights, seeds, ventilation and irrigation systems, and assorted paraphernalia utilized to maintain and grow marijuana plants.
Further investigation determined that Kozdron used a laptop to both upload and download more than 1,000 images of child pornography from the internet.
Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer commended the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office High Tech Crime Unit, Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotics Strike Force, United States Department of Homeland Security Investigations Newark, Little Egg Harbor Police Department, and Little Egg Harbor Detective Bureau for their collaborative assistance in connection with this investigation.
Charges are merely accusations until proven in a court of law.
