NEW YORK – A 33-year-old motorcyclist who died from crashing into a pickup truck on the West Shore Expressway has been identified by police.
Michael Bugliaro of Whiting was driving a 2009 Suzuki motorcycle when he struck a 2008 Dodge pickup truck that was attempting to switch from the right lane to the left lane. They were traveling north on the Expressway near Arthur Kill Road and the Huguenot Avenue exit at around 5 p.m. on July 1.
According to a spokesman for the NYPD’s Deputy Commissioner of Public Information, Bugliaro suffered severe body trauma as a result.
Officers who responded to the scene said they found Bugliaro lying in the roadway. He was pronounced deceased on scene by EMS, police said.
The driver of the pick-up, a 52-year-old man, was uninjured.
At this time, the crash remains under investigation.
