  LITTLE EGG HARBOR – Two men have been arrested after shooting a man multiple times and demanding money, officials said.

  Christopher Miller, 36, of Paterson, was charged with Attempted Murder, Robbery, Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose, and Unlawful Possession of a Weapon. Marc Manfredonia, 32, of Little Egg Harbor, was charged with Attempted Murder and Robbery, all in connection with a shooting that occurred on September 9 in the Township.

  Police were called to a home on East Hudson Drive around 4:30 a.m. for a report of gunshots. Officers found a 36-year-old victim who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center in Pomona for treatment and is presently listed in stable condition, authorities said.

  According to officials, the victim visited Miller and Manfredonia, both of whom he was acquainted with, at the East Hudson Drive home where they were staying. During that time, Miller and Manfredonia physically forced the victim out of the home and demanded money from him. Miller brandished a handgun, and told the victim he would shoot him if he did not transfer money through a mobile app.

  Officials said the victim sent two transactions, however Miller and Manfredonia demanded more money and the victim refused.

  A physical altercation ensured and Miller fired four gunshots, hitting the victim in the leg, groin and ear.

  Officials said Manfredonia and Miller continued to physically assault the victim before going back inside the home. Afterwards, the victim ran to a nearby home and called the police.

  Miller and Manfredonia were taken into custody without incident at the home and transported to the Ocean County Jail, where they are currently lodged pending a detention hearing.

  Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer and Little Egg Harbor Township Chief of Police James Hawkins acknowledged the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crime Unit, Little Egg Harbor Township Police Department, Little Egg Harbor Detective Bureau, Ocean County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Investigation Unit, and Mystic Island Volunteer Fire Department, for their combined and collective assistance in connection with this investigation.

  The charges referenced are merely accusations and the public are reminded that all defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
