STAFFORD – Police have completed a major investigation on a juvenile student after potential safety concerns were noted to the school district.

“The Stafford Township Police Department and Southern Regional School District are aware of a legal document, posted on social media, concerning a juvenile student and potential safety concerns related to the school,” Stafford Police said in a statement.

On Monday, an individual expressed concerns to the Southern Regional School District regarding a student and potential safety risks. Further evaluation indicated concerns about the student’s behavior and they were brought to a local facility for additional screening.

In addition, police filed for and was granted a Temporary Extreme Risk Protective Order (TERPO) by Judge Mark Schneider.

Authorities searched the student’s home and found no firearms registered to the home, and no weapons.

“The student has been removed from the Southern Regional School District, and steps are being taken to ensure ongoing safety and monitoring,” Stafford Police said.

Police confirmed that there is no immediate threat to the school or surrounding community.

“Stafford Township Police Department will implement enhanced security measures in and around the schools over the coming days. These precautionary steps are being taken to provide reassurance and peace of mind to parents, students, educators, and staff. The department is committed to ensuring a safe and secure learning environment, and any updates regarding the situation will be communicated via our official social media platforms,” police said.
