MONMOUTH COUNTY – A bicyclist died from injuries after being hit by a truck at an intersection Friday morning, authorities said.
The crash, involving a bicyclist and a box truck, occurred around 8:30 a.m. at the intersection of Roller and Deal roads in Ocean Township.
According to police, the truck driver was making a left-hand turn onto Deal Road when he collided with the bicyclist. The bicyclist, who was identified as 62-year-old Li Wang, was in the cross walk at the same time and was subsequently hit, landing about 25 yards from the crosswalk, police said.
Wang was brought to a local hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead on December 9.
The driver of the box truck, a 33-year-old Keyport resident, was uninjured in the crash. No summonses have been issued for the crash at this time, police said.
