JACKSON – St. Aloysius Roman Catholic Church and its adjoining school were evacuated Monday morning after a report of an explosive device, police said.
“No one has been injured, and this is merely a precaution at this time until the investigation is complete,” Jackson Township Police said in an initial statement.
After a sweep of the entire campus with multiple K9 units, police have confirmed that the church and school on Bennetts Mills Road are safe to resume normal activities.
“Thorough investigation has yielded negative results for any device,” police said.
This threat comes just two days after a bomb threat caused shoppers and staff to evacuate the Jackson Premium Outlets.
At this time, police have not provided details as to whether the two incidents are connected.
