BARNEGAT – Two men were hospitalized after their car crashed into a home in Barnegat Tuesday morning, police said.
The two men, ages 46 and 42, were working for a local landscaping company when their vehicle collided with a home within the Seacrest Pines adult community around 11 a.m. According to police, the vehicle had “accelerated unexpectedly” through an intersection, and then impacted a home on Black Bear Drive.
Both men were not wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash, police said. They suffered head and facial lacerations due to impacting the windshield.
Emergency responders transported them via Medevac to nearby trauma centers for further medical evaluation. One man was airlifted to Atlantic City Trauma Center, while the other was transported to Jersey Shore Trauma Center as a precautionary measure, police said.
The home received minimal structural damage and remains suitable for occupancy, police said.
The crash remains under investigation by the Barnegat Police Department Traffic Safety Unit.
