LAKEWOOD – A Lakewood man was arrested in connection to a carjacking that occurred Thursday morning at a local NJ Transit bus terminal, Lakewood police said.
Capt. Gregory Staffordsmith said investigation led officers to the Carasaljo Inn at the corner of Route 9 and 5th Street.
The Lakewood Police Department Special Response Team was deployed on the hotel and a search warrant was obtained on the suspect, a 52-year-old Lakewood man. He was ordered to exit the room, to which he complied, Staffordsmith said. A second person was also taken into custody.
At this time, the investigation is ongoing and additional information will be released when it becomes available.
