LAKEHURST – If you happen to hear loud booms in the area, don’t be alarmed – it’s the soldiers training at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst (JBMDL).
Every month, JBMDL releases their “Noise Level Calendar” so residents know when to expect mild or severe noise. This is to deter calls to local 911 dispatchers. The calendar is labeled with three different levels of noise: slight noise, moderate noise and abundant noise.
The days scheduled for “high noise” includes August 2, 6, 7, 12 through 25, 28, 29, and 31.
Additionally, some days are scheduled for “moderate noise,” which are August 3 through 5, 8 through 11, and 30.
Finally, August 26 and 27 are scheduled for “low noise.”
Noise levels are subject to change without notice due to training requirements and weather, JBMDL said.
