MANCHESTER – A former member of the Manchester Township Board of Education, who owns a Rumson jewelry store, has been sentenced to a five-year probation for stealing over $560,000 in jewelry and rare coins, officials said.

Anthony Goltsch previously pled guilty to one count of third-degree Theft by Failure to Make Required Disposition of Property Received.

Goltsch was the owner of the Golden Goose Jewelry Store on West River Road in Rumson. He executed his thefts by either not returning jewelry that was brought in for redesign or repair and not paying the victims from their consigned items.

The initial investigation revealed that three victims failed to receive any payment from Goltsch. After the first charge, 11 new victims stepped forward with fourteen victims being identified and possibly more victims to come forward.

A settlement was reached in August 2022, with Goltsch required to make restitution to his victims.
