LACEY – A Township man has pled guilty to threatening to shoot an Amazon delivery driver as well as running a marijuana growing and dealing operation, officials said.
John Vincentini, 64, pled guilty to Bias Intimidation in connection with an incident that occurred in Lacey Township on September 5, 2022.
Additionally, Vincentini pled guilty to unrelated charges of Possession of an Assault Firearm and Possession of More than One Ounce but Less than Five Pounds of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute in connection with incidents that occurred in Lacey Township in March 2024.
At the time of his sentencing on July 29, the State will be seeking a term of five years New Jersey State Prison (NJSP) as to the bias intimidation charge, five years NJSP with a 42 month period of parole ineligibility as to the assault firearm charge, and three years NJSP as to the narcotics charge. The sentences are to run concurrently.
According to officials, the Amazon delivery driver was making a delivery on a cul-de-sac when Vincentini parked his car to block the driver in. Vincentini then confronted the driver and questioned why the driver was in his neighborhood.
Vincentini further questioned the driver whether he understood that it was a racist neighborhood and asked if he wanted him to “go back to his car, get his rifle, and shoot him in the head,” officials said.
After this interaction, the Amazon driver left the scene and contacted the Lacey Township Police Department.
On October 5, 2022, Vincentini surrendered himself to the Lacey Township Police Department. He was processed and released on a summons pending future appearances in Ocean County Superior Court.
On March 15, local residents told police that a repurposed Amazon box was delivered to their home; the box containing marijuana.
Police said they learned that the person who delivered it was John Vincentini. His property was searched on March 21, where officers found about 10 pounds of marijuana, 15 plants, drug paraphernalia, “two assault firearms, a rifle-style BB gun,” and about $150,000.
Both John Vincentini and Karen Vincentini, John’s wife, were arrested and have been lodged in the Ocean County Jail since their apprehension.
The charges against Karen Vincentini remain pending.
