TOMS RIVER — A three-month investigation led to the arrest of an Allentown man and the seizure of a large quantity of illegal drugs, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer announced.
Gary Johnson, 45, was arrested May 28 in Asbury Park after detectives from several law enforcement agencies observed him leaving a suspected drug distribution location. Authorities later executed search warrants at a residence in Allentown and a storage unit in Trenton.
Detectives seized approximately 600 grams of cocaine, 34.5 pounds of marijuana, three pounds of THC products, 47 ounces of psilocybin mushrooms, and $60,000 in cash.
Johnson faces multiple drug distribution charges, weapons offenses, and financial facilitation. He is currently being held in the Ocean County Jail pending a detention hearing.
The investigation involved agencies from Ocean, Monmouth, and Mercer counties, along with the U.S. Postal Inspection Service and other local departments.
