TOMS RIVER – Ocean County authorities continue to investigate the discovery of a body floating in the Toms River last week. The man has been identified, according to the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office.
Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer confirmed 45-year-old Julian Lopez-Martinez was found in the water behind Point O’ Woods Drive on Friday, April 25th after someone called the Toms River Township Police Department who responded to the scene. Officers removed his body from the water.
A post-mortem examination conducted by the Ocean County Medical Examiner’s Office observed no signs of trauma to the body.
“The cause of death is pending toxicology results. The death of Mr. Lopez-Martinez does not appear to be suspicious at this time,” Prosecutor Billhimer stated.
