LACEY – A local man was ejected from his car and suffered fatal injures as the result of a single-car crash in Lacey Township, police said.
Around 12:19 a.m. Wednesday, first responders were called to the 2800 block of Dover Road regarding an overturned vehicle.
According to police, 39-year-old Christopher Winkle of Forked River was driving northbound on Dover Road when his Nissan Frontier left the roadway, collided with a utility pole, crossed into the southbound lane, hit the guardrail and overturned.
Winkle was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
Dover Road was closed for about four hours for investigation. The crash remains under investigation, and anyone with information is asked to contact Patrolman Michael Hyle at 609-693-6636 ext. 2602 or mhyle@laceypd.org.
