TOMS RIVER – Andrew Williams, 45, of Atlantic City, was sentenced to 10 years in New Jersey State Prison on June 13 for eluding police and multiple burglary and fraud charges related to incidents in Brick and Stafford Townships, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer announced.

Williams received a 10-year sentence for eluding and an eight-year sentence for burglary in connection with a December 16, 2021, incident in Brick Township. The burglary sentence is subject to the No Early Release Act, requiring him to serve 85 percent before parole eligibility. He was also sentenced to five years for a separate October 25, 2021, burglary in Stafford Township, and five years for two counts of fraudulent use of a credit card in Stafford in December 2021. All sentences will run concurrently.

Williams pleaded guilty to all charges on April 14, 2025.

The December 16 incident began when an off-duty officer spotted suspicious activity in the LA Fitness parking lot on Chambers Bridge Road. Williams fled in a van, crashed into another vehicle, attempted to carjack a driver, and briefly entered a police cruiser before being arrested. He was found to have burglarized two vehicles in the parking lot.

Williams was later linked to a separate vehicle burglary in October 2021 and fraudulent credit card use at a Best Buy store on December 10 and 14.

He has remained in custody since his arrest in December 2021.
