WHITING – A three-car crash that occurred Monday afternoon caused one person to be trapped in their car, officials said.
Around 3 p.m., Whiting Volunteer Fire Company 33 was dispatched to Congasia Road for a multi-vehicle accident. Rescue 3303 arrived first and confirmed one person was trapped in a car that laid on its side.
Engine 3301, Utility 3317, Utility 3327, Manchester 7613, and JBMDL engines 6761/6759 arrived shortly after to assist.

Whiting Volunteer Fire Company said vehicle stabilization was performed and afterwards removed the occupant from the car through the front windshield.
Patient care was handled by Manchester Division of Emergency Services and paramedics from RWJ Barnabas.
The crash is currently under investigation by the Manchester Police Department.
