LAKEHURST – Police said that no one was hurt when a gun was fired outside a home, and the suspect is in custody.
Nysiq S. Sutton, 20, Ocean Gate has been charged with Unlawful Possession of a Handgun, Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose, Certain Person not to Possess a Weapon, and Disorderly Conduct.
On January 5, at around 6:40 pm., Sutton was a rear seat passenger in a vehicle. They drove past a home on the 700 block of Cedar Street, and Sutton allegedly fired his gun to intimidate the victim.
On January 12, police responded to a home in Ocean Gate where Sutton was taken into custody without incident. Lakehurst Police was assisted by the Ocean Gate Police Department and the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department Field Services Unit.
Lakehurst Police reminded the public that they can report suspicious activity anonymously or they can use the tip link on lakehurstpolice.org.
Charges are merely accusations until proven in a court of law.
