TOMS RIVER – There were no casualties resulting from a fire on Hovsons Boulevard in Holiday City, officials said.
The fire was first reported just before 8 a.m. on December 17, officials said. When the Silverton Fire Company arrived, they saw smoke and flames in the back of the house going up into the attic.
The fire was under control in approximately 20 minutes, fire official Matthew Janora said. There were no injuries.
The cause appears to be improperly discarded smoking materials, he said. The fire is being investigated by Inspector Britton of the Toms River Bureau of Fire Prevention.
