TOMS RIVER — A Brick Township man has pleaded guilty to possessing more than five ounces of cocaine with intent to distribute following an investigation into his drug distribution activities in Jackson Township, authorities announced.

Raheem Montgomery, 50, entered his guilty plea on June 16, 2025, before Superior Court Judge Kenneth T. Palmer, according to Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer. At sentencing on August 1, the state will seek a 12-year prison term.

The Jackson Township Police Department Special Enforcement Unit launched an investigation in July 2024, identifying a storage facility in Jackson used by Montgomery to store and distribute narcotics.

On August 10, 2024, detectives observed Montgomery visiting the facility and later conducted a motor vehicle stop for a traffic violation. He was arrested after officers discovered his driving privileges were suspended. A search incident to arrest revealed a large quantity of cocaine in his possession.

Court-authorized search warrants were subsequently executed on Montgomery’s vehicle and the storage unit, resulting in the seizure of additional cocaine and about 100 oxycodone pills, officials said.

Montgomery was charged and transported to the Ocean County Jail but was later released under New Jersey’s bail reform guidelines.

Assistant Prosecutors Genna Moscato and Alex Becker are handling the case. Prosecutor Billhimer credited the Jackson Township Police Department and its Special Enforcement Unit for their investigative efforts.
