TUCKERTON – A local man as been criminally charged for accessing images of child pornography online, authorities said.
Reuben Tallman, 62, of Tuckerton, was charged with two counts of Distribution of Child Pornography and one count of Possession of Child Pornography.
Investigation began after a referral from the New Jersey State Police Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force. The ICAC Task Force received a cyber-tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children that someone was uploading images of child pornography via an internet application.
The Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office High Tech Crime Unit identified an IP address associated with a Tuckerton home as the location from which someone was accessing these images. This person was ultimately identified as Tallman.
On April 10, Detectives searched the home and were advised by an occupant of the residence that Tallman was at work in Deal, New Jersey.
On that same day, Detectives also searched Tallman’s electronic devices on himself and at his place of employment. This included seizing Tallman’s cell phone.
A forensic examination of Tallman’s cell phone determined that he had used an app on his phone to send child pornography to other users, authorities said.
On April 16, Tallman surrendered himself to Tuckerton Police Headquarters and was served with the charges by way of complaint-warrant. He was transported to the Ocean County Jail where he is presently lodged pending a detention hearing.

The charges referenced above are merely accusations and the press and public are reminded that all defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
