Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer announced that on March 18, 2025, Gustavo Juarez-Perez, 38, of South Toms River, consented to remain detained in the Ocean County Jail pending trial on charges of Murder, Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose and Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, all in connection with the death of his wife, Cheyanne Juarez, 30, also of South Toms River, on March 8, 2025, in South Toms River.
Juarez-Perez consented to remain detained before the Honorable David M. Fritch, J.S.C. The detention hearing was handled by Assistant Prosecutor Nicholas Mezza.
The charges referenced above are merely accusations and the press and public are reminded that all defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
