MANCHESTER – A Manchester man was killed after colliding into a dump truck Monday afternoon, police said.
Around 2:10 p.m., police responded to the area of Mount Misery Road and Pasadena Road regarding a two-vehicle crash involving a dump truck. According to police, the dump truck was traveling northeast on Pasadena Road when a Toyota Highlander traveling southeast crossed over the centerline and impacted the dump truck with the front driver side.
As a result, the Toyota overturned and came to a final rest on its roof on the grass shoulder of southeast Pasadena Road. The dump truck continued to travel northeast and left the roadway to the right impacting several trees, where it came to a final stop.
Both vehicles became fully engulfed by fire, police said. This caused a large portion of the wooded area near the crash to catch fire as well as an adjacent grass field.
The driver of the Toyota Highlander, 22-year-old Jack P. Lisowsky of Manchester, was killed as a result of the injuries sustained from the crash, police said.
The driver of the dump truck, 51-year-old Stacy W. Clay of Toms River, suffered a complaint of pain to her lower body.
The roadway remained shut down for several hours for investigation.
Assisting at the scene were firefighters and EMTs from the Manchester Township Division of Emergency Medical Services, firefighters from New Jersey State Forest Fire Service, Whiting Volunteer Fire Department, Joint Base McGuire Dix Lakehurst Fire Department, Forked River Volunteer Fire Department, Woodland Township Volunteer Fire Department, Paramedics from Robert Wood Johnson, Ocean County Sheriff’s Department, New Jersey State Police, Ocean County Road Department, and Accurate Towing Service.
The investigation into the crash is still ongoing and is being investigated by Patrolman Conner Yatauro of the Manchester Township Police Department Traffic Safety Unit.
