  MANCHESTER – A Manchester Township man has been sentenced to 10 years New Jersey State Prison for drug offenses, officials said.

  Robert Murray, Jr., 61, previously plead guilty to Possession of More than One Half Ounce but Less than Five Ounces of Cocaine with Intent to Distribute, in connection with an incident that occurred in Lakewood Township in February 2023.

  Murray pled guilty to the charge on May 6, 2024.

  On February 23, 2023, investigators searched a car and home in Manchester Township that was used by Murray to store and distribute Cocaine.

  Detectives pulled Murray over and seized about 71 grams of cocaine from his car. Murray was taken into custody without incident. Detectives then searched his home and seized an additional quantity of cocaine and about $37,250.

  Murray was transported to the Ocean County Jail, and subsequently released as a consequence of New Jersey Bail Reform.

  Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer acknowledged the diligent efforts of Senior Prosecutor Alyssa Mandara and Supervising Assistant Prosecutor Christine Lento who handled the case on behalf of the State, and commends the Lakewood Township Police Department Street Crimes Unit, Manchester Township Police Department Narcotics Enforcement Team, and Ocean County Regional SWAT Team, for their combined and cooperative assistance in connection with this investigation resulting in Murray’s guilty plea, and now his state prison sentence.
