BRICK – A Berkeley Township woman has been criminally charged for stealing RX prescription blanks from her job and forging over 30 prescriptions, police said.
On July 14, the Brick Township Street Crimes Unit searched the home of 60-year-old Candace Colbert who was suspected of stealing RX prescription blanks from a doctor’s office where she was employed in Brick.
Authorities later determined that Colbert forged and fraudulently passed 36 Rx scripts for prescriptions at pharmacies in Toms River beginning in March 2022.
Colbert was charged with possession of crack cocaine, possession of heroin, intent to distribute crack cocaine, drug paraphernalia, tampering with evidence, obstructing administration of law, possession of prescription legend drugs, obtaining a controlled dangerous substance by fraud, forgery by writing, theft of movable property and practice of medicine by unlicensed person.
Colbert was processed at Brick Police Headquarters and released on a summons.
