BRICK – A Brick Township school bus was hit from behind by a pickup truck while in route to pick up students this morning, police said.
The crash occurred around 8:20 a.m. on Cherry Quay Road. According to police, the truck was following the bus too closely, which caused the rear-end collision.
Police confirmed that there were minor injuries as a result, however it was not specified whether any students were injured.
Students who were on the bus were evaluated at the scene by Brick Township EMS. School administration safely discharged the students either to their parents, who were on scene, or transferred to another bus and taken to school, police said.
Brick Township police said the investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact the Department at 732-262-1100.
