LAKEWOOD – Police are investigating a dead body found in the trunk of a vehicle parked in the area of Fairview Court.
“This remains an active and ongoing investigation,” Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer said. “There is no known danger to the public, and additional information will be released when it becomes available.”
Police were called at around 12:15 p.m. on February 28. The witness said there was an unconscious male in the trunk. Officers arrived to find him deceased.
The Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crime Unit, Lakewood Township Police Department, Manchester Township Police Department, and Ocean County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Investigation Unit are investigating.
