STAFFORD – The Stafford Township Police Department is warning residents to lock their car after a car theft occurred at a local Wawa.
On July 13, a 2021 Porsche Macan S was stolen in the early morning hours from the gas pump at the Wawa located at 320 Route 72 E. in Manahawkin. Police said the car was stolen while the owner was inside of the store.
Authorities later located the car in Pleasantville on July 25 and issued a warrant for a 17-year-old male juvenile suspect from Pleasantville for 3rd degree Theft of Moveable Property.
Police additionally issued a warrant for another male juvenile suspect out of the Pleasantville on the charges of 3rd degree Receiving Stolen Property. At this time, the two suspect have no been apprehended.
Stafford Police reminds the community to lock your car doors and take your keys/key fobs inside with you, during all hours.
“We would like to remind our community to partner with us in preventing these thefts! Over the past several weeks, Stafford Township and the surrounding areas have been inundated with individuals, taking advantage of unlocked vehicles and stealing them. Many of these thefts have occurred in public areas and in broad daylight,” Stafford Police said in a statement.
