  TOMS RIVER – The Toms River Police Department is currently asking for the public’s assistance in identifying suspects involved in a shoplifting incident that took place at the Route 9 Home Depot on Wednesday afternoon.   According to police, a man used bolt cutters to cut the lock that was securing wire behind cages.   TOMS RIVER – The Toms River Police Department is currently asking for the public’s assistance in identifying suspects involved in a shoplifting incident that took place at the Route 9 Home Depot on Wednesday afternoon.

  According to police, a man used bolt cutters to cut the lock that was securing wire behind cages. The suspect removed 27 rolls of 12-2 wire which was worth a total of $2,916.

  When an employee approached the man, the suspect brandished a utility knife and threatened the employee.

  The man along with an associate were then seen loading the wire into a white Chevy Impala and leaving the area. Police said the registered vehicle owner does not match the description of the suspects. The vehicle owner claims to have sold the car at a gas station in Delaware prior to the robbery.
