LAKEWOOD – A small plane crashed in Ocean County this afternoon in the wooded area at Lakewood Airport, authorities confirmed.
Lakewood Police Captain Gregorgy Staffordsmith confirmed that just before 4 p.m. on December 19, the department received a call reporting that a plane was down at the Lakewood Airport located on Cedarbridge Avenue.
Staffordsmith said “upon arrival, emergency service responders located a small plane in the wood line with four injured passengers. At this time the extent of injuries are not known nor the reason for the crash.”
Emergency personnel from around the area have responded to the scene.
